Umbrella Studio invites you to

Barbies Upcycled MAGGIE WRETHAM & JACKIE ELMORE An exhibition in the Vault space depicting the creative talents of Barbie using her celebrity status to raise awareness of recycling, using op-shop textiles, discarded plastics and beach litter.

Barbie uses her celebrity status and unleashes her creative talents to create up-cycled Barbie clothing using textile op-shop finds and found objects. She gathers discarded plastics in her effort to save sea creatures in the ocean, weaving beach litter to assemble wearable art. Barbie makes a further statement with roadside rubbish collected with her “Clean Up Australia” team.
