BASS RESIDENCE SOLAR PV PROJECT Mears Creek Farm – Calvert County, MD

10.08 KW grid tied system with battery backup

Installed and engineered by Aurora Energy, Inc.,

Columbia, MD

PROBLEM: House is not suited for a PV array.

•Roofs are not facing due south;

•House is designated as a contributing structure in an historic district;

•Solar panels are not aesthetically compatible with an historic house.

SOLUTION: Relocate a Tobacco Barn to the site to serve as a PV platform

• Barn can be placed facing due south for optimal orientation;

• No shading issue;

• South side of roof is not visible from the historic house.
