Display at Book ShelvesAfter receiving the stock, the retailer needs to add barcodes to the books and then display them on shelves.
ReturnsIf the book sales move slowly, the retailer returns the stocks to us post 90 days. We receive the same and enter the stocks into our systems. The retailers pay us for the goods sold, we then you pay you the royalty.
Re-OrderingAs the books sell, the retailers may place more orders. After receiving the orders, there follows the same process of order fulfillment, delivery confirmations and display with the same timelines.

The paid display feature enables display of the books across stores for 90 days. As per the sales of your book, the orders from retailers are replenished periodically. Let’s take an example where your books are on sale at just 30 retailers. Let’s assume a scenario where 1 book is sold every 2 days across 15 retailers. That translates to 225 copies in a single month (15 copies sold across 15 retailers). This number can then be repeated periodically for an entire year as long as the demand for the book remains across the retail chain.

Understanding Sales or Returns (SOR)
The offline retailers i.e. the physical bookstores work on SOR basis i.e. they stock books for a certain period. If the books sell, they make payment for the sold copies.
The copies that don’t sell are returned to us. The payment, as well as return of stocks happens after a credit period, which is 90 - 120 days from the billing month.
Thus, this order cycle is generally of 120-150 days including 30 days of the billing month.

Also, a lot of stores do not re-order or pay till they clear the existing stock i.e. if they have taken 10 books and 7 are sold, they neither re-order nor pay for the 7 books. They wait till all the 10 books are sold. If we insist on immediate payment, they return the entire unsold stock which reduces any chance of further sales.

Hence, we refrain from calling back the books. Very few stores in retail work efficiently enough to pay up per quarter. The larger stores do. When they order for particular books, they either pay or return the stock at the end of the credit period. The smaller stores are highly unorganized.
