AT E. J. JAMES: It was Carnaval time at Ecole E. J. James yesterday as students and Le Bonhomme took to the outdoors for some fun and games. At left, Matthew Day makes his way around a chair in a relay race; above top, Alexa Leiningen, left, and Sadie Stephenson pose with Bonhomme; above bottom, Sam Gaskin celebrates; at right, top, Ben Santegeli reacts after a successful pitch of a beanbag into a container; and, Emilie Jarmin juggles some items as she takes part in a relay race. The carnaval at the school began Feb. 28 and continues through March 4. According to Mme. Hedy Badakhshan, a Grade 4 and 3/4 French immersion teacher, the carnaval was a big event for the student body as it used to be two schools; Linbrook Grades 1-5 and E.J. James Grades 6-8 and this year has begun as a full French immersion school boasting Grades 1 through 8.
