BIOMASA and pellets market in Slovakia
Ladislav Zidek, General Director
BIOMASA, Association of Legal Entities
Biomass – significant renewable energy source
The biggest potential among RES
in Slovakia
Represents important impulse for
development of sustainable local
and circular economy
It is one of possibilities how to
reduce the greenhouse gas
emissions
Biomass – potential everywhere

BIOMASA, Association of Legal Entities
BIOMASA was established in 1999.
BIOMASA is non-profit organization
(NGO).
It has 19 members from public sector
BIOMASA is a leader in biomass
utilization in Slovakia.
AIMS AND GOALS
Main aim is to create market with wood pellets in Slovakia.
Important goal is reduction of GHG emissions in our region
through utilization of wood pellets for heating.
Next important goal is to increase public awareness on
biomass.
