I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can’t see from the center.

In the long run we shape our lives and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die and the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.

I hope i never think I have it all figured out, all these thoughts and conflicted opinions in my head bouncing around

One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, wecannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kinds, true, merciful, generous, or honest.

The beautiful, is what is well formed and aestheti-cally pleasing, whereas the sublime is what has the power to compel and destroy us.

Th e sublime can compel, and most oft en does compel good things. the most beautiful poetry, marvelous art, wonderful moments...
