INTRODUCTION
Bone marrow aspiration done to diagnose any abnormality such as cancer, infection and leukemia in the blood by suctioning some bone marrow commonly in posterior and anterior of the illiac crest.

DEFINITION
Bone marrow aspiration is a procedure by suctioning some bone marrow to diagnose any abnormality with the blood.
EQUIPMENTS
1. 1% lidocaine–for local anaesthesia gauze syringe 10ml povidone alcohol swabs sterile glove Snares ILLINOIS needle
Equipment that used in bone marrowprocedure
PROCEDURE Patient condition must in stable before going this
procedure Physician or doctor will explain this procedure
and make sure patient understand Lies patient in prone position with straighten legs
and one pillow putting under the chest for patient comfort
A consent form given to patient for sign as a agreement
Local anaesthesia given Bone marrow needle(illinois needle) inserted and
sucking some bone marrow by syringe Sample of the bone marrow will sent to
laboratory
Local anesthesia given before doing procedure
Needle of bone marrow Inserted
Sucking bone marrow by syringe

Ask patient to fasting 6-8 hours before going this procedure
