What is Industrialisation? The process in which Britain transformed itself from an agricultural society into

one based on the manufacturing of goods. Manual labour was now overtaken by

machines and industrial cities developed.

How did Industrialisation lead to crime?

Very large towns grew up during the Industrial Revolution. By the early 19th century

London had expanded greatly, Manchester and other northern towns had come into

existence and, in Wales Merthyr Tydfil had become the largest industrial town. The

expansion of these towns tended to be unplanned.
