The Acrylic AdvantageTheresininEverClearsealersisapure,100%acrylic–thisiskeytotheproduct’ssuperiorbenefits.Traditionalcuringandsealingcompoundsareformulatedwithablendofbothstyreneandacrylicpolymers.Whilethestyreneprovidesthecuring,ormoistureretentionabilityofacureandseal,itcanbeunstableunderultravioletlight,causingdiscolorationinsunlight.Inaddition,styrenepolymersaresofterthanacrylics,andwillscratchandwearoffeasierthanapureacrylic.EverClear,EverClearVOXandEverClearTBcontainnostyrene.Thisequalssignificantlyincreasedbreathabilityandlong-termclarityoftheappliedsealerfilm.

EverClearTBwasdevelopedtoprovideasolventbasedoptionforVOC-regulatedareasoftheUnitedStatessuchastheOzoneTransportCommissionregion(Maryland,NewYork,NewJersey,Delaware,Pennsylvania,Maine,northerncountiesofVirginia,Connecticut,Massachusetts,NewHampshire,RhodeIsland,Vermont,andtheDistrictofColumbia)andotherregulatedstatessuchasOhio,Illinois,andIndiana.EverClearTBcontainsablendofsolventsthatincludestertiary-butylacetate(TBAC),asolventwithlowphotochemicalactivity–itdoesnotreactintheatmospheretoproduceozone,aground-levelpollutant.TBACisconsideredan“exempt”solvent,whichmeansthatitdoesn’tcounttowardtheVOCcontentofaproduct.UsingTBACallowstheuseofasolventbasedcure&sealthatiscompliantwithstrictVOClaws.
