• Born in Consett• Education: he was educated at Durham Choristers School, St. Bees School, and Newcastle University• In 1975, he continued for master's degree •While at Oxford, he also acted and performed early sketches for the Oxford University Dramatic Society

•He planned to base his career on his hobby •At Oxford University he changed his mind and decided to enter show business.•The character of Mr. Bean was developed while Atkinson was studying for his master's degree at Oxford University.
