BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) and Rehabilitation and Exercise Science (RES):International Entry Requirements 2019-20

This document acts as a guide to the normal entry requirements for the BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) and BSc (Hons) Rehabilitation and Exercise Science (RES) degree programmes.

Entry requirements may be subject to change and the Keele University webpage is normally the most up-to-date source.

We accept a range of qualifications and combinations of awards. Not all of which are listed here.

We treat each applicant individually so please contact us if their are any questions you may have.

Overview

All offers are subject to:

• Satisfactory enhanced level police record check.• Health screening questionnaire.• English Language Requirements:

– GCSE or iGCSE (1st language) grade C or iGCSE (2nd language) grade B would normally meet the academic requirements.

– Students whose first language is not English and those not taught in English would normally be expected to achieve IELTS 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each section.

Generic Requirements - Radiography

UNITED KINGDOM EQUIVALENT

UK - Radiography

• GCSE:

○ 6 subjects grades A* - C (9 - 4) to include Mathematics, Science and English Language.

• A Level:

○ 3 subjects with grades B B B / A B C and one must be Biology*, Human Biology, Chemistry or Physics at a minimum of grade B.

○ General studies and critical thinking are not normally accepted.

*Pass in practical component required; if taken

UK - Radiography

• Foundation Year:

○ 60% average across modules with at least 30 credits in Human Anatomy and / or Physiology, Chemistry or Physics.

• International Baccalaureate:○ 32 points with 6 points in higher level Biology,

Chemistry or Physics.

*Pass in practical component required; if taken

UK - RES

• GCSE:

○ 4 subjects grades A* - C to include Mathematics, Science and English Language.

• A Level:

○ 3 subjects with grades B B C / A C C and one must be a science subject* or Physical Education (PE).

○ General studies and critical thinking are not normally accepted.

*Pass in practical component required; if taken

UK - RES

• Foundation Year:

○ 60% average across modules with at least 30 credits in Human Anatomy and / or Physiology, Chemistry or Physics.

○ Non-science based degrees may be considered on an individual case-by-case basis.

UK - RES• Bachelor Degree:

○ Upper second class (2:2) in an appropriate science or exercise based subject.

• NB:

○ If degree taught in English then normally no further language requirements.

○ Non-science based degrees may be considered on an individual case-by-case basis.

INDIA

India - Radiography

• Higher Secondary Certificate (From CBSE / CISCE):

○ Standard XII with 80% overall and 80% in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

• English Language Requirements:

○ IELTS 7.0 with no subsection less than 6.5 would normally meet the academic requirements.

India - RES

• Higher Secondary Certificate (From CBSE / CISCE):

○ Standard XII with 70% overall and 70% in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

• English Language Requirements:

○ IELTS 6.0 with no subsection less than 5.5 would normally meet the academic requirements.

HONG KONG

Hong Kong (HK) - Radiography

• HKDSE:

○ 3 elective subjects with grades 5 4 4 / 5* 4 3 with one being biology, chemistry, physics or combined science at a minimum of grade 5.

• English Language Requirements:

○ HKDSE English Language grade 5 would normally meet the academic requirements.

Hong Kong (HK) - RES

• HKDSE:

○ 3 elective subjects with grades 4 4 4 / 5 4 3 with one being biology, chemistry, physics or combined science.

• English Language Requirements:

○ HKDSE English Language grade 4 would normally meet the academic requirements.

MALAYSIA

Malaysia - Radiography• STPM with Matriculation:

○ Grade B B B (B minimum across core subjects taken) and must include Biology, Chemistry or Physics grade B.

○ Matrikulasi - GPA 3.33 out of 4.0 with a 3.3 minimum in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

• Matriculation only:○ Normally need to take the international

foundation year (science).

Malaysia - Radiography• United Examination Certificate (UEC):

○ B B B with B3 in all subjects with B3 minimum in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

• SPM:○ 6 subjects grades 1 - 6 (A+ - C) to include Science and

Mathematics.

• English Language Requirements:

○ Cambridge O Level English Language grade C would normally meet the academic requirements.

Malaysia - RES• STPM with Matriculation:

○ Grade B B C (C minimum across core subjects taken) and must include Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Sports Science grade B.

○ Matrikulasi - GPA 3.0 out of 4.0 with a 3.0 minimum in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Sports Science.

• Matriculation only:○ Normally need to take the international

○ Cambridge O Level English Language grade C would normally meet the academic requirements.

Singapore - RES• A level:
