ANALYTICS, VISUALIZATION AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE PROJECT BY WASEEM (6477171567) All images are subject to copyright @ waseem zeeshan lets begin with transferring excel data to sql server database using SSIS (sql server integration services). A typical ETL process at work here using MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO 2013. lets open visual studio 2013
now we have to create a data flow tast for the transferring of data to happen . We do this by just dragging and dropping data flow task on to the control flow window.
NOW WE CHOOSE SOURCE AND DESTINATION FOR THE FLOW OF DATA
The source is excel sheet and the destination is Sql server 2014 database . Now lets go ahead and do the ETL (EXTRACT TRANSFORM LOAD). Before moving further we have to create a database in the sql server 2014
here we go all the data from the excel sheet is transferred to SQL server 2014 database . lets go and check
now check if the data base is created with the full information as required
Its all good the data is perfectly Extracted transformed and loaded into the sql server database. now lets go and extract the same data into an excel sheet by using sql server OLEDB client I have opened an Excel sheet that is empty and will extract data form the SQL server database just to show how its done using OLEDB client .
The data is all extracted back tot he excel sheets and ready for applying Data Analysis and data visualization using excel and POWER BI (BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TOOLS)
All the tables are ready for applying data analysis , Next step is to create facts and dimension tables and create an OLAP cube similiar to SSAS ( ANALYSIS SERVICES) . We use power pivot to do that
THis is just a small project on how to perform ETL, DATA VISUALIZATION along with BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS. software used : SSIS MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO 2013 DATABASE SERVER SQL SERVER 2014 DATA VISUALIZATION MICROSOFT EXCEL 2013 MULTI DIMENSIONAL OLAP CUBE POWERPIVOT DATA ANALYSIS EXCEL 2013 PIVOT TABLES THANKS FOR WATCHING
