To Whom It May Concern,

Michael Kamer worked as an AmeriCorps member at Human Options, an Orange County non-profit working tobreak the cycle of domestic violence, for a year. As a fund development team, we were very impressed withMichael and are pleased to share our experiences of working with him, with you.

As Chief Development Officer for Human Options, I am responsible for all the fundraising activities that generatethe private revenue for our organization, which makes up 60 o/o of our $3.7 million budget. While Michael wasworking for us his actions spoke louder than any words I could say about his performance. Within 3 months ofworking for Human Options, Michael helped us obtain a unique $10,000 grant from Cox Communications.Considering the fact that we were the first non-proffi organization Michael had worked for, we were extremelyimpressed by this. He was able to leverage our new social media infrastructure, which he helped develop, toachieve this goal. He helped us to see the benefits of pursuing such endeavors, and we now have a vibrant digitaloutreach program that is simple, successful and most importantly working to reach that social, active demographicthat all non-profits arebuzzing about. We were lucky to have Michael and are a better organization because ofthe time he spent with us.

As Fund Development Manager, my responsibilities include special events, website management, and socialmedia' At the time Michael started as an AmeriCorps member we were just beginning to look at social mediaand how we might implement a plan for our organization As we shared our desire to launch a plan and ourstruggle with time management to develop and implement one, Michael went to work. He wrote a full socialmedia plan with scheduling suggestions, outreach ideas, and the time and ability to do half of the work! Withinweeks we had a fan-page on Facebook with 1,000 followers throughout Southem California. We have notimplemented all of his ideas but he launched us into an active social network plan that has been extremelyvaluable' The impact Michael made in the short time he was here was immense. I am confident he will maKc agreat contribution where ever he goes.

As Volunteer Coordinator, I was responsible for supervising Michael during his time here as an Americorpsmember. Michael was a self-starter and independent worker. When putting new ideas forward, he wasmeticulous in his research and always presented several options. As a result, he found and helped implement avolunteer database program that is now essential to our volunteer program. Our entire p.o""r. of recruiting, qualifying and assigning volunteers and tracking their hours has been revolutionized, digitized, and improvlddramatically thanks to the work Michael did. His impact here from his time with AmeriCorps will be ielt foryears to come, and we were extremely lucky to have him as a member of our team for the time he was available tous. I wish him the best and would happily recommend him for any position to which he is applying. He willbring professionalism, style, and achievement to any team that is lucky enough to have him.

We all wish Michael the very best in his endeavors and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely.- ,t n n ^ n
