Who will be our school leaders for 2017?
Congratulations to all of our school captain nominees who gave rousing speeches at a recent assembly.
We wish them all well and wait for the announcement at the Year 12 Farewell Assembly on Friday 23rd
September.
Good luck Maddie, Georgia, Kimberly, Cooper, Quin, Zack and Jarod.
Under 15’s Boys and Girls Basketball
Our WHS Boys and Girls played in a Basketball Gala Day last week in Port
Macquarie.
They both had a win and a loss from
their two games, hence missing the Final. However, the two teams learnt a lot
about the game, its skills and the rules, which was a valuable experience,
making the day worthwhile.
BDM Constructions donates jerseys
Brad Maggs and Austin Bell from BDM Constructions attended the Wauchope High
Assembly on Monday 5th September to donate a set of rugby league jerseys to the
school. A presentation was made to the Principal Mr Glen Sawle at the Assembly,
where the jerseys were handed over to the school. The jerseys have been
earmarked for use by the WHS Under 15’s and 16’s teams, when they play in
competitions such as the Country Cup and Harry Wells Shield.
The school would like to thank Brad and Austin, and their company BDM
Constructions, for their very generous gift, and assure them that the jerseys will be
put to good use.

Japanese Drumming coming to Wauchope High.
Early in Term 4, Year 8 students will have an opportunity to take part in a cultural
experience with Japanese drumming. All students in year 8 undertake a study of
Japan as part of their mandatory History course. This visit is planned to enhance
the learning of the classroom and provide students with a ‘hands on’ experience.
Students wishing to be part of this experience need to pay $8 to the front office
before the end of Term 3. Contact Mrs McGufficke in HSIE for more information.
