System Benefits
Durable, Flexible SystemsCaltech systems are designed for simple, flame‑free installation and are fully adaptable to both new build and refurbishment applications. With high elasticity and pliability, the membranes perform in the harshest conditions, with excellent resistance to puncture, UV degradation and chemical agents.
Fire PerformanceThe Caltech Roofing system is tested to BS 476: Part 3 and is unrestricted in use under the current Building Regulations.
Flame-free Installation Caltech systems are particularly suitable for sensitive detailing and high risk environments. They offer consistent technical performance across a variety of installation methods to best suit project requirements. All Caltech systems are flame‑free and provide long‑term hard‑wearing waterproofing solutions for flat or low pitched roofs, and communal walkways and balconies.
Caltech Registered InstallersThe Caltech range is only supplied to registered contractors, whose contracts managers and operatives must undergo a stringent Alumasc training programme prior to obtaining registered status. Quality of workmanship is monitored on site on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with the warranty.
Alumasc Warranty
Caltech systems carry a range of warranties, covering design, product and installation.
Alumasc warranties are supported by public and product liability insurances with a total indemnity limit of £50 million. Third party insurance backing giving cover against latent product defects is available via Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) regulated insurance brokers subject to independent final inspection, documented compliance with an agreed maintenance schedule and pre‑payment of the relevant premium.
Approvals
British Board of Agrément ApprovedCaltech Roofing – BBA certificate 13/5038.
Quality Independently assessed to the ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Standard.
Caltech scores highly in BREEAM ratings (notably in Section MAT5 for responsible sourcing of materials) and contributes to a very good generic rating in the BRE’s Green Guide to Specification, capable of an ‘A+’ rating when installed on timber or metal decks.

Cold-applied Liquid MembranesCaltech
Caltech Roofing System
The Caltech cold‑applied liquid waterproofing system provides a seamless elastomeric membrane over rigid flat or tapered insulation. It ensures long‑term waterproof integrity and thermal values in accordance with current regulations.
Caltech has a smooth light or dark grey mid‑sheen finish. Aluminium oxide grit granules can be incorporated within an additional layer of Caltech top coat to form an anti‑slip surface where required, and systems can be tailored to suit specific guarantee and surface finish requirements. Existing roofs can be refurbished using directly applied Caltech, incorporating additional insulation where required.
Key Features
WarrantyThe typical warranty period for the Caltech Roofing System is 25 years.
LifespanCaltech is a high performance membrane which is BBA certified – Cert No. 13/5038. According to the BBA, ‘under normal service conditions the membrane will provide a durable roof waterproofing with a service life of up to 25 years’.
DurabilityCaltech is reinforced with a chopped strand emulsion‑bound fibreglass fabric to ensure excellent mechanical properties and dimensional stability, maximising durability.
PerformanceCaltech is a cold‑applied liquid polyurethane, with a high solids content, providing a seamless durable waterproof membrane over rigid PIR thermal insulation (tapered to falls or uniform thickness) to achieve thermal values and drainage falls in accordance with current Building Regulations and Codes of Practice.
Fire RatingCaltech carries an EXT.F.AA rating to BS 476: Part 3, and the use of the system is unrestricted under the current Building Regulations.

Caltech Walkway System
The Caltech Walkway System is a seamless waterproofing membrane comprising a two part primer and top coat, finished with aluminium oxide grit, bound in a UV stable sealer coat. Standard and heavy duty (HD) versions are available, which are typically used on existing asphalt surfaces or new (fully cured) concrete.
The Caltech Walkway System has a high‑gloss, slip‑resistant, low‑textured finish and is available in a standard black, with other colours available to order.
The system is specifically intended for use on medium to high wear areas on communal walkways and balconies, access and escape routes in social housing blocks, hotels and hospitals, access areas in car parks etc.
Key Features
WarrantyThe typical warranty period for the Caltech HD Walkway System is 15 years. The Caltech Standard Walkway System is the subject of a 10 year warranty.
DurabilityThe Caltech Walkway System offers a long‑term waterproofing solution. Medium to high trafficked areas are well protected from future damage and potential costly repairs.
PerformanceThe Caltech Walkway System is fast‑curing and walkable after 3‑4 hours, and therefore suitable for application in areas where access cannot be restricted for more than a few hours, especially advantageous on occupied residential projects.

Acrytite is formulated to act as a flexible, joint‑free waterproof coating for the refurbishment of existing structurally sound low‑pitched sheet roofs.
Acrytite has a plain colour, low sheen finish.
Key Features
LifespanApplication of Acrytite will typically provide up to 10 years’ waterproofing integrity to existing roofs.
PerformanceThe system is simple to install and quickly resistant to rainfall.
Application AreasSuitable for the refurbishment of asbestos and fibre cement sheeting, profiled metal sheets, PVC and PVF2 coated metal etc., subject to a site survey to establish compatibility and preparation requirements.
