What is Cash For College (C4C)?

According to calgrants.org, “California Cash for College is a partnership effort which brings together high schools,

community college and university financial aid experts and community organizations to offer low-income and first-

generation college-bound high school seniors and families hands-on help completing the FAFSA and other forms to apply

for financial aid. Multi-lingual workshops are held each year starting in January through the March 2 Cal Grant application

deadline at sites throughout the state.”

Examples of Great Practice0Burton: In years past, collaboration between Gear Up, PACT,

and SFCAC have allowed Cash 4 College Night to also act as a General College Night for all other grade levels. All partied hosted a certain level of the night and worked together to offer a comprehensive “College” night!

0Washington: merges with Gear Up, PACT, PTSA, and the Parent Liaison to offer a comprehensive Financial Aid night for all grades. AACE and PACT handle the senior component(the C4C) while Gear Up and the other parties worked with the underclassmen and their parents.
