Belgian ceramics studio Fou de Feu (Crazy about Fire) re-thinks classical

objects and comes up with a new personality for each of them. Often they’re

products for everyday use, now and then it’s all about form and sophisticat-

ed interior design. Honest, true, pure, powerful, simple.

The honesty in design is part of the complete Fou de Feu-philosophy. Clay

becomes ceramics becomes clay again, in and enless series of birth and re-

birth. Fou de Feu grasps that feature and is committed to make this life-

cycle the longest possible while cherishing the cradle-to-cradle concept as

a valuable companion. Zero waste, no stress for the earth, but another new

life in clay when the last item of the collection has been long worn-out.

The Fou de Feu studio is the life work of Veerle Van Overloop, graduated

as a ceramics artist at the St Lucas University College of Art and Design

Antwerp and with an attractive list of master classes on her record. With

her pure passion and timeless lines Veerle put Fou de Feu on the Belgian

design map in 2009.

Flexibility is the keyword for the new tableware SEPT.

The SEPT collection consists of 7 plates, 7 bowls and 7 serving dishes.

Even though the colours appear to be neutral, they still reflect personality and character.

They invite you to cook, present, combine and find out how they are most useful to you.

Plates become lids, bowls become stock jars.

Rhythmic and simple; contrasting by the use of differ-ent materials.

The use of materials from the world of ceramics for the serving dishes, allows you to play with the contrasts.

A tribute to cooking or the art of presentation.

The plates and bowls are available in white or blue grey.

The serving dishes are available in blue grey & white concrete, the eco resin in a nude color with granito effect or degraded speckle effect.

FACET is a dynamic and playful candleholder designed to be used from both sides. This reversible candleholder holds either classic candles

or tea lights. Just flip it upside down to make it suitable for the type of candles that suit your occasion best. Even just as an object, FAC-ET makes an elegant design piece. Just play with the design, color and

function and discover how you want to use it.

In addition to the FACET collection we made a limited collection of brass vases (available in black patina or natural). In combination with the candleholder, the two brass vases make an eye-catching design set.

Every candleholder set was given a unique number from 1 to 40.

TRUE is the basic collection from the kilns of Fou de Feu. The ceramics, the color technique and the upright edges add a hint of nature and sturdiness to the rhythmically repeated curves. This series makes up for a surprising balance between calculated design and hand-en-gineered materials.

TRUE is a set of four plates or dishes and has been extended with a cup and a pitcher. Their function depends on your table plans. The collection is available in white, black and gentle grey.

Making dinner and setting the table means bringing people together. Talking, laughing and in a temporary alliance they’re a source of inspiration for ceramics studio Fou de Feu. The CONNECT-series connects more than people. Materials: ceramics, metal and linen. Pink copper on tones of white. Plate with bowl or cup. The design links one piece to the next while the user is challenged to play with com-bination and function.

Fou de Feu loves to play it subtle. Not too colorfull, we’ll leave it to the food to play that game. And the designed links are but a wafer-thin layer of copper. So when the studio selects partners to complete the collection, they have to share that yearn for fine details and the typical handmade feel. Libeco is a man-ufacturer of high end Belgian linen and Lotte Martens has a passion for prints and textile with a concept. The collab turned out to be a tasteful match. CONNECT prooves how a set table can add some personality to a dinner party.

Based on the forms and shapes of soap bubbles, different pieces of the collection ëLife is a Bubbleí draw you into a story of beauty and subtle forms.

An enlarged image of soap bubbles are taken out of their context and get a new purpose; as a vase, as wall decoration, as light or interior design objects, even as jewelry.

With their feel of pure porcelain, the subtle and tactile forms in soft white have an unnoticeable way of drawing you into a new story of playfulness.
