description

A Motivational Presentation valuable to anyone in any field, management level, or position. Geared to inspire and teach people to know and act on being able to influence their work atmosphere regardless of the positive or negative aspects of the environment, whether under good or bad management, whether being first line, middle, or executive manager. Discussion will focus on realizing that, instead of being followers depending on others to lead and influence, we can take initiative to lead and influence those around us in ways to build up others and ourselves, creating relationships and atmosphere greatly benefiting our organization’s operations.

Always Being Influenced By Others Not consciously influencing others

Hopefully Being Protected By Our Supervisors, Our Managers,

14

WHEN DO WE . . . . . REALIZE & STOP

• REALIZE we’re grown up, able to lead & influence?

• STOP depending on others to lead & influence?

WHEN ARE YOU . . . . . THE ONE

• The one to lead and influence?

• The one to protect others?

WHEN WILL YOU . . . . . BE THE ONE

• Be the one to

Affect The Atmosphere Around You

In Your Way, With Your Style?

15

What am I talking about? EXAMPLE 1

When leaders that Led, Directed, Protected, and Influenced, Retire or Move On.

How is the atmosphere affected?

When someone takes a leader’s place….. How is the atmosphere affected?

When the cycle of personnel change continues…..

How is the atmosphere affected?

MY EXPERIENCE….

16

MY EXPERIENCE….

• Hod Retired. Don Retired. I and others remained.

Change continued. New leaders came and went.

• I RECOGNIZED THAT

Those who were with us started something that I liked.

They created an atmosphere that I was able to fit into.

THEN, THEY WERE GONE.

It Was Up To Me And Those Around Me

To Affect The Atmosphere Around Us.

I told my co-workers that. The atmosphere was not being provided for us as it was.

We now must provide the atmosphere.

17

When Things Change

Who will pick up THE MANTLE of what was established by those gone by ?

THE MANTLE of Affecting The Atmosphere You Are In

To make

the atmosphere what it should be and could be?

18

What You Can Do? EXAMPLE 2

“Telling a story”

A personal experience of how relationships

can change

an atmosphere and events.

19

What You Can Do? EXAMPLE 2

•A New Walk

•Sharing Someone Else’s Experience With Others

20

SOME HOW TOs

1. Do Something Different

Don’t Do The Same Things All The Time

Do things differently to see what happens

2. Do some self analysis

21

22

WHEN THINGS STAY THE SAME

• WE MAINTAIN TRADITIONAL PRACTICES Whether Good Or Bad

Times when

Maintaining Traditional Practices are GOOD.

Though good, tradition may still

limit learning and progress

Times when

Maintaining Traditional Practices are BAD.

23

WHEN THINGS STAY THE SAME

• You’ll always BE where you’ve always BEEN

If you always GO where you’ve always GONE Going in circles

Not going places you’ve never been

• You’ll always BE where you’ve always BEEN

If you always DO what you’ve always DONE

Habits

Doing the same things over and over

Not trying new things or new ways

24

WHEN THINGS STAY THE SAME

• You’ll always KNOW who you’ve always KNOWN

If you’re always WITH who you’ve always been WITH A closed circle of acquaintances

Not meeting new people

• Tradition can make the truth to be unheard. We’ve always done it that way.

We miss profits and easier ways of doing things.

We miss the fun that can happen at work.

25

WHEN THINGS Change

CHANGE HAS MANY POSITIVE BENEFITS

LEARNING & GROWING

TRYING SOMETHING NEW RESULTS IN:

Meeting Someone New Going Somewhere You’ve Never Been New Relationships when you say something

different to someone you already know Doing Something You’ve Never Done Reading A Type Of Book that you’ve never read

before can launch you to new things Going To A Conference Type that you’ve never

been to before can launch you to new things

26

RESULTS OF Change

New Opportunities

Changes In Career

Expanding Friendships And Networks

Doing Things Differently

than you usually do

can have Positive Results that are

LIFE CHANGING.

27

AFFECT THE ATMOSPHERE AROUND YOU

NO MATTER WHAT YOUR LEVEL

As a person, manager or not, you can be a leader and have great impact

You can affect people at every level Whether at your level, managers above you,

staff that work for you, people you work along side.

Your ideas can go far, even without your knowing it.

If there is a turn over problem, look at the first

line manager where that turnover occurs.
