Coach Hobbs

O You can call me Coach Hobbs

O I am an assistant football coach, and the varsity assistant baseball coach.

O I have been married to my wife Emily for just over a year, and we have 2 Australian Shepherds named Navi and Lexi.

• I grew up in Ennis, Tx and went to Ennis High School. I

participated in FFA, played football, and was a 4 year

letterman for baseball.

• I enjoy the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

O I graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with

a Bachelor’s of Arts in Historical Studies, along with

earning my teaching certificate. I also played 4 years

of baseball while at UTD.

O This is my 2nd year teaching/coaching at CRHS

O We are studying 10,000 years of history in

the entire world

Supplies Each student must bring

O 1 Binder Notebook

If you would like tissue you will need to bring

some to use.

Spiral Notebook

O Every 6 weeks you will have a notebook test.

O This is a MAJOR grade.

O You are responsible for keeping up with the

notes and graded papers from class.

O We will follow the school’s guidelines for tardiness. If you are more than 10 minutes late to class, it will be counted as an absence. This is school policy

Social Studies grading policy

O60% minor grades

O40% major grades

Late Work Policy

1 block day late- 70%

More than 1 block

Day late- 50%

Retakes

O Students can retake assignments/tests

O The maximum grade you can get is a 70%

O Must schedule retakes with teacher to

complete during tutorials.

O NOT during class time

Absences

O If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to obtain any missing work.

O Make up folders

O If you have a prolonged absence please talk to myself to make arrangements for make up work.

O Test will be made up during Tutorials.

Tutorials

O By appointment

O If you are needing any support please make

sure you see me.

O NO lunch tutorials.

Leaving the classroom O You will not be able to leave class without my

permission

O You will not be allowed to leave class the first 10

minutes of class or the last 15 minutes of class

BYOD O ONLY with teacher permission

O If you choose to have phone or device out

without permission it will be taken and

turned into the office.

O During ALL tests/quizzes, smart watches will

be removed as well
