Celebrating Feliz Navidad in Honduras

Feliz Navidad

• Feliz Navidad is the Spanish word for Merry Christmas.

• In Honduras Feliz Navidad is celebrated with many Christmas parties before Christmas Day. They also have dinner and dancing with their family, friends, neighbors. In Honduras they usually put up a Christmas with many decorations.

La Corona De Navidad

• La Corona de Navidad is a crown that is circular with green plants, has no beginning or end, which reminds the eternity of God and makes us think of the years of waiting in the son of God. The green plants can be of spruce, pine or some other artificial material. The Green is related to the life of suspense. Many give the meaning of a special time for spiritual growth and sanctifying grace.

• They celebrate it by recreating the artifact of god

La Estrella De Belen

• La Estrella is the star of Bethlehem• They treasure this day by remaking

the star of Bethlehem.

Nochebuena

• Nochebuena means Christmas Eve• They decorate there houses and they

decorate there Christmas trees. Then they wait for Christmas Day

Los Villancios

• Los Villancios means carols(singing Christmas songs)

• They go from house to house to sing happy Christmas songs to the different people.

Flor De Noche Buena

• Flor De Noche Buena mean poinsettia.

• They put these poinsettia’s outside their houses and inside their houses for decorations.

Las Posadas

• Las Posadas is a Spanish tradition when Mary and Joseph are on a donkey looking for a place to stay and they walk form house to house asking for food and a place to stay

El Angel

• El Angel means angel in English• El Angel was built to commemorate the

centennial of the beginning of Mexico's War of Independence, celebrated in 1910. In later years it was made into a mausoleum for the most important heroes of that war. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Mexico City, and it has become a focal point for both celebration or protest.

La Piñata

• La Piñata means piñata in Spanish• La Piñata is used at parties and many

other things for having fun. They are usually filled with candy but can be filled with other things.

Los Reyes Magos

• On January 6, most of the Hispanic world celebrates El Dia De Reyes remembering the day when the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, arrived giving their treasured gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the Baby Jesus.

• El Nacimiento De Jesus is the birth of Jesus. The birth of Jesus came from Mary and Joseph when they tried to find an inn to have their baby.
