Home to Downtown State College and Penn State University, there is always something to do...and it’s all a stone’s throw from the peaceful seclusion of a wooded trail.
If you are looking for Big Ten sports and sports venues, you found them. Beaver Stadium holds over 107,000 fans on game day and is the second largest stadium in the US! If you are looking to hoop it up, the Bryce Jordan Center holds 16,000 Nittany and Lady Lion fans...as well as packs the house for performances by Elton John, Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson, the Jonas Brothers...even Cirque du Soleil. The Philadelphia 76ers choose the BJC for their preseason camp. Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, the first LEED certified baseball complex in the country is home to the Penn State Baseball team and the State College Spikes, Class-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Penn State has 29 intercollegiate athletic programs including soccer, volleyball, wrestling, tennis, gymnastics, lacrosse and more... Penn State Club Sports include Ultimate Frisbee and ice hockey. The McCoy Natatorium houses three indoor pools and an Olympic sized outdoor pool with high dives.

Blue & White Golf CoursesDescription: The Penn State Golf Courses are ready to provide you with the very best the game has to offer. The challenging 7,214 Yard Par 72 Blue Course offers risk and reward to the veteran golfer and its alternative the 6,344 yard Par 72 White Course offers something for everyone.
The relaxing atmosphere continues right off the greens and into the new Walker Clubhouse. Relax in this 6,000 sq. ft. facility. You’ll find an award winning Golf Shop complete with the latest in quality equipment and merchandise. Golf professionals are on hand to provide tips of the game and answer any of your questions. Next to the Golf Shop is The 19th Hole Café.
If cross country is your pleasure then enjoy the beautiful scenery on the challenging cross country course that weaves through the golf course.

Bryce Jordan CenterDescription: The Bryce Jordan Center is home to Penn State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams. It is a state-of-the-art facility, and the largest of its kind between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The building houses many other activities such as concerts, commencements and other special events. The Jordan Center has been the site of the Big Ten Wrestling Championships, the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships, the NCAA Wrestling Championships and the Cliff Keen NWCA National Duals as well as the NCAA 1st and 2nd round Women’s Basketball Championships. In addition to athletic, administrative and coaches offices, the arena has a full-size practice facility with three basketball courts, varsity locker rooms, athletic training and strength training rooms.

McCoy NatatoriumDescription: The McCoy Natatorium is home to Penn State’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. The aquatics complex is one of the most complete indoor-outdoor facilities in the East. The indoor facility includes three areas: a six-lane, 25-yard racing pool is a deep (6 to 10 ft), cool (79° F) pool designed for members of our swim teams and serious lap swimmers. It is also used for water polo, scuba, and synchronized swimming; a six-lane, 25-meter instructional pool is a shallow (3 1/2 - 5 ft) warm-water (84 ° F) pool primarily for instruction, recreation, therapy, and lap swimming; a 42-square-foot diving well a warm (86° F) and deep (14 ft) pool designed for spring board diving and scuba diving. It features two with 1-meter and one 3-meter springboards; and a 50-meter Olympic outdoor heated (82° F) pool has four diving boards, and 5-, 7-, and 10-meter diving platforms.

Comments: A Colorado electronic timing system with a complete readout board is used for all collegiate competitions in the racing pool. The 14-foot diving well is equipped with two one-meter and two three-meter Duraform standard diving boards. The outdoor facility includes an eight-lane Olympic pool and a diving well.

Explore the Outdoors of Central PA!Central Pennsylvania is home to internationally recognized fly fishing waters including Fishing Creek, Spring Creek, Lake Perez and the Little Juniata which hosted the FIPS Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship and the US Nationals. 216 miles of trout waters also include Bald Eagle Creek, Black Moshannon Creek, Penns Creek, Poe Lake, Six Mile Run, Wallace Run and White Deer Creek.
Stone Valley Vertical Adventures is one of the largest challenge course facilities on the East Coast, with unmatched natural resources. This high-adventure course is available to groups seeking a unique teambuilding experience… and a rush of adrenaline. Located in the scenic woodlands of The Alleghenies, this seven hundred acre park features rustic looking facilities and stone buildings, Lake Perez for fishing or sailing, camping facilities and Shavers Creek Environmental and Raptor Center.
Central PA offers some of the best on and off road cycling in PA and is home to adventure races including the Tussey Mountainback 50 Mile Relay and Ultramarathon.

Recreation BuildingDescription: Located on the corner of Burrowes and Curtin Roads on the West side of campus, “Rec Hall” is the home of Penn State’s men’s and women’s gymnastics teams, men’s and women’s volleyball teams and the wrestling team.
The building houses several athletic facilities, including handball, racquetball and squash courts, a refurbished jogging track, and two complete gyms with space for seven basketball courts and features permanent volleyball courts located in the main and south gyms. A newly remodeled weight training room and a wrestling room are also located in the building’s south complex.

Description: State-of-the art, $10.2 million facility located on the corner of University Drive and Park Avenue. Camp Woodward’s gyms are like none other in the world. Every inch has been designed to facilitate the best gymnastics instruction, always with safety as a primary goal. There are three gyms—totaling 43,000 square feet—furnished with more equipment than you have probably ever seen in one place.

Holuba Hall
Intramural Building
Description: Holuba Hall is used by Penn State’s men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, for their early season games and practices. Covering 118,000 square-feet, it is one of the largest indoor collegiate venues in the nation. Holuba Hall is also the main indoor practice facility for the Penn State football team.

Jeffery FieldDescription: Jeffery Field is home to Penn State’s men’s and women’s lacrosse teams in the Spring and men’s and women’s soccer teams in the Fall. Jeffery Field is regarded as one of the finest grass surfaces in the country. It is located on the East side of campus adjacent to Beaver Stadium at the intersection of University Drive and Park Avenue. Recent upgrades to the field have included new lighting, scoreboard and permanent seating.

Multi-Sport FacilityDescription: The Multi-Sport facility is the home of the men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams. This state-of-the-art building contains one of the nation’s elite 200-yard hydraulic tracks surrounding a spacious infield. The facility also contains a 60x60-yard turf area available for various athletic practices, a weight room and locker rooms, storage and meeting rooms.

Nittany Lion TrackDescription: Located on the East side of campus the outdoor track is home to Penn State’s men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams. Considered one of the best track layouts in the East, it is a 400- meter tartan surface with nine 48-inch lanes a six-foot warm-up lane running outside lane No. 9. The infield contains two high-jump pits, as well as two javelin, shot put, discus and hammer areas each. Other features are a steeplechase water jump, in addition to long jump, triple jump and pole vault runways in two directions.

Description: The Pegula Ice Arena is a new home for the Nittany Lions beginning the 2013-2014 season. Penn State Alumnus and Buffalo Sabres owner, Terry Pegula and his wife, Kim, donated $88 million for the facility. The arena includes two sheets that allow the use of a wide range of campus and community activities that vary from commencement ceremonies to classes and lessons. The facility contains a weight room, hydrotherapy training room, steam room, team lounge and locker area and an XO’s video system. In addition, the arena will be able to host various events such as National Hockey League and American Hockey League exhibition games.

Sarni Tennis Center
White Building
Description: The Sarni Tennis Facility is home to Penn State’s men’s and women’s tennis teams. It contains six outdoor Plexi-cushion courts, all lighted for night play, and including one “stadium” court with seating for 1,100 spectators. The current indoor facility located next to Holuba Hall has four Deco-turf courts with an 800-seat elevated gallery, office, pro shop and locker rooms. This facility is used for matches, team and individual practices during inclement weather. 6 regular courts and 1 stadium court.

Description: The White Building is home of the ten time National Championship men’s and women’s fencing teams. The site has a fencing practice area in its lower level. Competition is held in the North Gym on the main floor. The White building also houses a newly equipped state-of-the-art gymnastics training facility. The gym features 9,200 square-feet of training space equipped with two sets of each apparatus, along with two loose foam pits and overhead spotting belts. Several of the world’s greatest gymnasts have trained here, including Olympic gold medalist Vitaly Scherbo.
