We are able to successfully meet the needs of our market through the introduction and development of new and existing products, both novel and post-patent. These products are developed to exceed our customer’s expectations in quality and performance, offering valuable solutions to farmer’s crop protection needs.
Our Areas of Expertise Include:
Product Development
As a major player in the cereal market we are constantly striving to acquire new products that will benefit our customers whilst at the same time seeking to develop and improve our existing product portfolio.
Registration
We have a dedicated registration team based at our European headquarters in Warrington, UK.
We are supporting the re-registration of major molecules with data generation to provide long term security for product registrations.
Manufacture and Formulation
In order for our manufacturing to be as efficient and competitive as possible, we manufacture most products at our own production facilities located in the UK, Europe and Asia, where each site operates to the strictest international quality standards.
The majority of our European products are formulated at our own modern plant in England, enabling us to to be responsive to customer demand. This plant is capable of producing a wide range of sophisticated formulations both for our own needs and as a toll formulator for many multi-national companies.

Herbicides FINY FINY Herbicide
FINY is a highly active contact and residual herbicide with foliar and root activity against a wide range of annual broad-leaved weeds. FINY is rapidly translocated within the weed and acts by stopping plant cell division, working quickly to stop the growth of susceptible weeds almost immediately after post-emergence application. FINY may be used on all varieties of winter and spring wheat, spring barley, oats and triticale.

Please Note:
• Applications of FINY should be made using a medium quality spray as defined by BCPC.
• Apply from 1st February in the year of harvest until the specified latest time of application.
• For optimum weed control, applications should be made to ensure thorough spray cover and under good growing conditions.
Weed Control
FINY can be used to control the more common problem weeds in arable crops as noted below. Most effective weed control can be achieved when applied to small weeds that are actively growing at the time of application.

Please Note:
• Applications of HYPRONE P should be made using a medium quality spray as defined by BCPC.
• The total amount of mecoprop-p applied to an individual crop or in a single year (in the case of a perennial crop) must not exceed the maximum total dose of mecoprop-p approved for application to that crop by any single mecoprop-p containing product.
• Applications to cereals must not be made between 1st October and 1st March.
Weed Control
HYPRONE P can be used to control the weeds noted below. When applied at the seedling stage of the crop, more effective weed control can be achieved.
Annual weeds should be sprayed as soon as possible after germinating during good growing conditions to ensure effective control.
Best control of perennial weeds is achieved by applying just before the weeds flower. However, this should only be considered if perennial weeds are the main problem, as annual weeds may not be completely controlled.

Weed Control
SEMPRA XL will control a broad range of common weeds in arable rotations. Optimum timing is pre-emergence of the weeds, and although SEMPRA XL will control actively growing weeds post-emergence, it is possible that a reduction in efficacy may be seen.
Diflufenican, the active ingredient in SEMPRA XL, is also known to have a beneficial effect on black-grass control when used as part of a black-grass control programme. An application of SEMPRA XL within such a programme will help to reduce black-grass populations. It should only be used as part of an appropriate management strategy involving sequences with products of alternative modes of action and the use of cultural techniques.

Herbicides XERTON
XERTON works best pre-emergence of the black-grass. Where delayed emergence of black-grass is predicted, XERTON is an option for early post-emergence programmes.
Ethofumesate, the active ingredient in XERTON, belongs to the benzofuran chemical family (Group N), the mode of action by inhibition of lipid synthesis. XERTON therefore provides an alternative mode of action to ACCase inhibitors for black-grass control. There has been no recorded resistance to ethofumesate in the UK.
Weed Control
XERTON has activity on the weeds noted below.
To obtain the optimum performance, XERTON should be used in a tank mix with other herbicides.

Plant Growth Regulator GYRO GYRO Plant Growth Regulator
GYRO is a plant growth regulator (PGR) that primarily acts by reducing crop height, which can lead to lodging control, resulting in the protection of crop yield and quality as the ears remain upright until harvesting. Please Note:
• Applications of GYRO should be made using a medium quality spray as defined by BCPC.
GYRO is active at lower temperatures than other standard PGR products, a benefit in seasons where early spring applications coincide with cooler weather.
Trinexapac-ethyl, the active ingredient in GYRO, has demonstrated significant beneficial effects on root growth and root ball structure in addition to its effect on reduction of stem length. Use in an appropriately timed PGR programme can give benefits in reduction of both stem and root lodging, leading to improved yield and grain quality.
