Online retail sales – Taobao:

• 130 dog meat products removed

• Taobao banned dog meat and bear bile products from all its virtual stores in 2010 after meeting with Animals Asia staff.

• May 2017: Animals Asia discovers dog meat product for sale under alternative names

• Taobao acted swiftly and pulled more than 130 products in June.

Reporting dog meat restaurants:

Reported 6 restaurants to GuiyangFDA and 9 restaurants to Yulin FDA.

Outcome to date: No reply from YulinFDA. One dog meat food stall isclosed down for good in Guiyang.

Outcome of report to Harbin FDA :investigated 67 restaurants---

• 14 had ceased business• 3 not found• 2 already stopped selling dog

meat• 33 had related certificates• 10 were issued rectified

certification• 5 were forced to stop from

selling dog meat or shut down.

Yulin Dog Meat Festival 2017:

Rumor of local authorities banning on dog meat selling was false. Volunteers found dog meat consumption was not affected much in Yulin between 19-23 June,.

Sent 16 letters together with illegal cat/dog meat trade information to Yulin, Guangxi, and national government departments.Outcome to date: the documents have all been received by all the authorities.

•2 Dr Dog stories on newspapers JingBao, Guangzhou Daily

•Guangzhou Daily:Average daily circulation 1,850,000 copies.

•JingBao:Over 100,000 circulation per day in Shenzhen.

•The two stories werere-posted by 16 mediaso far.

Dr Dog and Professor Paws:

Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong--

•70 Dr Dogs visits 3000+ people.

•66 Professor Paws lectures, around 3000 people.
