Oracle Bones: A shell or bone used to communicate with ancestors and predict future.

Daoism: The belief in following “the Way,” or Tao of the universe.

Silk Road: A network of trade routes that stretched across Asia from China to the Mediterranean Sea

Woodblock Printing: A form of printing in which an entire page is carved into a wood block or wood, covered in ink, and pressed to a piece of paper to create a printed page.

Calligraphy: The art of producing decorative handwriting or lettering with a pen or brush.

Compass: an instrument that uses the earth’s magnetic field to show direction

Aristocrats: Nobles whose wealth came from the land they owned

Civil Service: Managing or administrating government.

Bureaucracy: Made up of appointed officials who are responsible for different areas of government
