1)Live in the US for at least 5 years

2)Alien who are married to a citizen wait only 3 years

3)18 years old

4)File application with Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS)

5)Citizenship test

6)Pledging allegiance

How can you loose your citizenship?

Deportation

• Send back to their own country

• Why?

Treason

• Betrayal of ones country
