The complex was designed by one of the most famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in collaboration

with Felix Candela

The whole complex consists of: Cultural and entertainment center of avant-garde buildings; it houses the world's largest aquarium and dolphinarium, an IMAX theater, restaurants, and, museums.

The whole complex covers an area of 350,000 m². The center is a "city within a city"

It consists of the several structures.

Umbracle - located in the south building of the complex. It is 320 m wide and 60 meters

long. It includes the two-storey car park (up to 900) and buses (up to 20).

Decorated with a garden planted with trees containingwide range of plants of different species

The Oceanogràfic of the City of Arts and Sciences is the largest aquarium in Europe and contains representatives of the world’s main marine ecosystems. Each building is identified with the following aquatic environments: the Mediterranean, Wetlands, Temperate and Tropical Seas, Oceans, the Antarctic, the Arctic, Islands, and the Red Sea,

The Dolphinarium with 24 million liters of water and a depth of 10.5 meters includes dolphin and sea lion islands. An Underwater Restaurant and the

Access Building, which welcomes visitors, really stand out because of their spectacular roofs designed by Félix Candela.

The Science Museum - a great museum of the twenty-first century, where the latest achievements of science and technology are on display.

In the museum, there is a giant Foucault’s pendulum, an experiment to demonstrate the rotation of the Earth.

The museum has workshops and an interactive science exhibition.

In this area, the visitors can take an active part in the experiments.

L'Hemisfèric -This impressive architectural design has the total area of 13.000 m².

It includes an planetarium; this building’s unique architecture comes alive as the lids of the colossal “Eye of Knowledge” opens up to reveal the

fascinating setting.

The building has an astronomic projector system with the same effect as an IMAX; therefore, images produced are very clear with an equally effective

sound system.

The visitors are treated to laser shows.
