Hazardous Materials Abatement

• Hazardous Materials Abatement & Salvage Permit (NEW! April 1, 2016)

• Requires abatement prior to demolition• Hazardous materials survey must be completed by

qualified person, as defined in OHSR 20.112• Better protection of the health and safety of City workers,

community, environment• Hazardous Materials Report Form must be completed by

qualified professional (e.g. CIH, ROH, CSP, CRSP, P.Eng.)– “Active member of recognized professional body, experienced in

recognition, evaluation, and control of hazardous materials that may be encountered during demolition/renovation work”
