Social Media

• Each club – what social media do you use, & what made you choose it?

• What purpose do you find it best serves?

• Is there anything you would NOT use social media for?

Social Media Hints, Tips, Ideas

• Give something / a reason to your users – why should they use your sites?

• Plan your use. What media do your members/potential members use? What is new/upcoming? What works for your club?

• Tie together all your online media use. Cross promote.

• Make your brand “social” not just talking at, but talking with.

• Establish what you want to achieve from using social media

• Engage your members / friends / groups. Involve them.

• Schedule things like tweets (futuretweets.com) so you don’t need to consider doing them daily. (Match reminders, events etc.)

• Social media isn’t always positive. Use this as an opportunity to relate and solve a problem.

• E-Commerce & Paypal? Fees, fundraising etc.

• Where can you get “free” club websites?
