Planning for the Future

Looking ahead…

The commitment is ongoing

• Certificate awarded following specific course instruction (training) and achievement of a passing score on an examination, confirms knowledge at a specific point in time; requires no further commitment to training

• Credential awarded by a professional certification program, confirms a knowledge and skill set at a specific point in time; however, continued commitment required to maintain status

Recertification

• Assures maintenance of continued professional knowledge and skills in the field of medical publishing

• Requires certificants to understand and follow the standards of ethical publication practices, which continue to evolve over time

• Ensures ongoing involvement of CMPPs in the field of medical publishing
