With RealTest™ technology, theCOgassensingcelloftheCO1224TCOdetectorcanbetestedusingacarbonmonoxidegasagent.Simplyholdthetestbuttonfortwoseconds.Afterthealarmcycle(temp4)thegreenLEDwillflashaboutoncepersecond,indicatingthatthedetectorisreadytoacceptCOfortesting.SprayasmallamountofCOintothedetectorpertheinstallationinstructions,andwithinsecondsthedetectorwillalarm,indicatingsuccessfulgasentry.

Ifdangerousamountsofcarbonmonoxideisdetected,theCO1224Tdetectorwillalertresidentsbysoundingandflashingatemp-4signalalarm.Protectionisguaranteed24/7byacentralstation,regardlessofwhetherresidentsareawayfromhome,sleepingoralreadysufferingfromtheeffectsofCO.

Thisspecificdeviceisdesignedforsystemoperation.ThedetectorisfullylistedtoUL2075.Itoffersacoderequiredtroublerelaytosendasensorfailureorend-of-lifesignaltothecontrolpanelandthecentralstation.ItalsousesSEMS-typeterminalPhilipsheadscrewstoprovideaquickerandmorepositivewiringconnectionandcoderequiredwiringsupervision.TheCO1224Tdetectoroffersalowcurrentdraw,allowingmoredevicestobeconnectedtothepanelwithouthavingtopurchaseamoreexpensivepaneloranextrapowersupply.
