By the end of the lessons the students will be able to use

monotone paper to create a collage based on a still life.

Examples of Picasso and Gris can be used for inpiration.

I have given the students three mushrooms to place inside

a white lined box. With this still life they will create a collage

using a selection of torn, monochrome paper.

Directional light will enhance the shadow and tonal range

giving the objects line shape, tone and form.

Create the tonal range of the box first.

Use one mushroom to get the proportion and placement for the other mushrooms

Choose one mushroom to show texture and detail. Black string is provided for this.
