GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

• 4 credits English• 4 credits Math• 3 credits Science (1 Biological , 1 Physical Science, 1 Other)• 3 ½ credits History • 1 credit Fine Art • ½ cr. Health , ½ cr. PE (2 sem classes, to include PE I)*• ½ credit Financial Literacy • 5 Additional Electives

22 TOTAL CREDITS NEEDED TO GRADUATE

*2 seasons of a Turpin sport, cheerleading, marching band or dance team can be used to meet PE requirement. Must be either 2 seasons or 2 PE classes, cannot mix & match

Diploma with Honors

Academic Honors -beyond minimum grad requirements:

• Math - add 1 higher than Algebra II (4 total)• Science - add 1 advanced level (4 total)• Social Studies - add .5 credit (4 total)• World Languages - 3 units of same language, or 2 + 2• ACT 27 or SAT 1280• GPA 3.5 (unweighted)

GPA is unweighted, as of the end of 1st sem. senior year

In addition to earning 22 credits, students must take the following End of Course Exams:

• English 9 & 10• Math I & II• Biology• US History• US Government

• Students must accumulate 18 total points on seven end-of-course exams, including a minimum of

  

       4 points in English

       4 points in Math

      6 points in Social studies & science (combined)

STEP #1: TAKE ENTRANCE EXAMS: ACT/SAT

• Does it matter what test I take?• No! ACT OR SAT• Take both?

• Send Scores:• Send scores directly to colleges from SAT/ACT (send them all!)• Send scores early if applying to Early Action deadlines

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION•

How do I you know if I need one?Who should I have write my letter?

Provide recommender with:•Resume•Self-Evaluation form (Counselor letter)

For Common App:• “Invite” Counselor & Teacher•“Assign” Teacher Recs to schoolsRec letters will be submitted directly through Common App
