Pritchard
Should I take the SAT or the ACT?
Observations about the SAT & ACT
SAT– More abstract and critical thinking based, – Questions are often more complex
ACT– more straightforward and more similar to tests
in school than SAT– Time per question is quicker on ACT but
questions are less complex
ACT as the “other” test
• ACT often considered by students who are dissatisfied with SAT score after multiple attempts
• Better to determine which test is best for you from the beginning
• Colleges accept either test!
