Kadzidło there are ethnographic workshops, where

everyone can find out some information about traditions,

habits and activities of Kurpie.

bees called „borówki”. He was named BARTNIK from forest

hives which we called BARCIAMI.

PotterPotterPottery is one of the

oldest crafts. On Polish lands pottery appears about 5400 years B.C.

This person made from wicker baskets, dishes

and furniture which were very useful in daily life.

Modeling Modeling doughdough

In Kurpie modeling dough figures was tradition in

this region. They decorate Kurpie cottages.

It wasn’t a job in Kurpie, but many women cut from

paper beautiful designs. Their colourful works used

to decorate homes.

Similarly how in wicker works, these baskets were

very helpful at homes. Even today Kurpie make this kind

of baskets and they find many buyers, even abroad.

jewellery and a lot of other interesting

things.

Kurpie artists can make amazing sculptures,

monuments and fiures from wood, mostly of religious character.

Kurpie palmsKurpie palmsFor a long time, creating

beautiful, colourful palms for Easter has

been our tradition. The highest one was 35

meters high!

Linen- combing and Linen- combing and weave.weave.

One of the most important cultivation in Kurpie were

fibre plants - linen and hemp.

Linen yarn was used to do different kinds of fabric.
