E-mail• “E” Stands for electronic, therefor e-mail is simply

electronic mail• Modern E-mailing requires the usage of the

Internet• E-mail servers can accept, deliver, forward and

store messages• Historically the early types of E-mail was through

the Fax Machine

• Wiki is a web page wherein anyone can edit through a we browser i.e. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox

• It also supports hyperlinks for further information on the web page

• Hyperlinks that can send you to different pages of the website for other information and such

Social Bookmarking• Delicious, the website, is the one the coined the

term Social Bookmarking• Social Bookmarking is a centralized online service

wherein the users are allowed to add, annotate, edit and share their bookmarks of web documents.

HTML• Short for HyperText Markup Language• HTML is somewhat the same as the backbone of

any mammal• It is also the face of any model• Basically HTML is what webpages are made up• HTML is a bunch of written text, text that are read

by the web browser

Podcast• AKA Netcast• It allows subscribers to subscribe to a set of feeds

to view syndicated Web site content. • It as a short media content where in anyone can

listen or watch you • Usually used for iPod

VoIP• Voice over Internet Protocol• It is another way of making phone calls, with the

difference of making the calls cheaper or completely free

• In the modern times, the “phone” part is not always present anymore, as you can communicate without a telephone set

Online Chat• Online chat, AKA instant messaging, is the newest

and easiest way of contacting other people from a very far away place.

• It’s pretty much the same way as e-mailing but a lot quicker and less formal unlike E-mailing, you have to provide a subject and such

WWW• WWW stands for “World Wide Web” and is not the

lyrics to that dubstep song you know• WWW is all the resources and users on the

Internet that are using the HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol)

Streaming• A generic term that means that the date being

shown of transferred can be used instantly without having to download it

• You can stream numerous things but the most popular is streaming videos and sounds

• Videos may include anime, movies, cartoons and short videos that are watched only for out enjoyment

• As for the sound, music is mainly the one being streamed through the internet

Blog• a Web site on which someone writes about

personal opinions, activities, and experiences• Blogging is basically the online journal of

everyone which everyone can read, it is up to you if you want to hide your identity or not

Social Networking• Social networking is the grouping of individuals

into specific groups• Although social networking is possible in person,

especially in the workplace, universities, and high schools, it is most popular online

URL• usually pronounced by sounding out each letter

but, in some quarters, pronounced "Earl“• is the unique address for a file that is accessible

on the Internet• A common way to get to a Web site is to enter the

URL of its home page file in your Web browser's address line

Web Feed• A web feed lets websites continuously "feed" you

notices of their new content• is a data format used for providing users with

frequently updated content
