Status quo – Vetenarian market
• small animals are „little babies“ of the families => lot of money will be
spend for the health of the „family member“
• requirements in treatments (implants) and therefore in hygiene will grow
=> hygiene regulations become more important:
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Vetenarians follow more and more human medical (eur opean) requirements
The cycle of instruments(According to European regulations)
• cleaning
• disinfection
• rinsing
• drying
• check / care
• packing
• sterilization
• release
• documentation
• storage

What kind of treatment will the instrument be used for?
Non- invasive = no contact with blood
Invasive = contact with blood
=> Non- invasive: general diagnostic/treatments
=> Invasive: Surgical treatments
Invasive: YOU NEED TO WRAP YOUR INSTRUMENTS!!
YOU NEED TO STERILIZE!!
General Definitions:
Disinfection = germ reduction (10 -5)
Sterilization = germ free (10 -6)

Hot Air Sterilization: 30 minutes at 180° C temperature
Advantages:
• Low inital costs• Basic construction• Easy set-up
Disadvantages:
• High sterilization temperature – long residence time (holding time) is extremely stressing your valuable instruments => risk of damages to the instruments
• Not usable for organic material and textiles• Long operating hours• No integrated control of the parameters => no documentation!• High potential for rest cold air to stay inside the chamber• High potential of undetected loading- and sterilization-process faults• No general ruling for packing/wrapping of the goods• No possibility of documentation of the relevant parameters during sterilization process
=> Old fashioned sterilization method, holding time 30 minutes at 180 °=> specialized (endoscopic) instruments could be dam aged due to high temperature
9
Steam Sterilization (Autoklave): 3,5 minutes, 134° C temperature, 2 bar pressure
Advantages:
• Very fast cycle times• Low thermal stress to the instruments => safe your instruments!• Thermo labile materials as for example rubber and textiles may be autoclaved• Germ-proof, sterile packing / wrapping according to European norms + recommendations possible/available
• Safe sterilization due to integrated sensors and process control of the autoclave => documentation!
• Convenient and all over documentation of the process parameters • Easy and safe usage of the autoclave on the display• Easy set-up: electricity and destilled water is needed• State of the art sterilization procedure• Safe time & money due to faster cycle times
Disadvantages:
• Higher investment costs (Autoclaves without drying – danger of corrosion!) • Autoclaves may only be controlled by well educated nurses / members of the clinic team
• What do you want to sterilize?
• instruments wrapped/unwrapped?
• hollow instruments yes/no ?
• textiles?
• Length of the longest instrument?
• What kind of treatments are you doing?
• higher surgical treatments? implants, endoscopics ?
=> possible Class B autoclave customer
• normal diagnostical treatments?
=> Euroklav series

Water treatment system - MELA dem® 40
• automatic feed water supply via water treatment system MELAdem 40• automated + cost-effective production of demineralized water directly in the practise• ion-exchange principle• quantity of water output is depending on the conductivity• can be mounted against the autoclave or wall, or can be placed in a sub-cabinet• no need to buy and carry destilled water from the pharmacy or do-it-yourself-store • MELAjet spray pistol optional available
We need demineralized water for the
sterilization cycle.
Why not producing the water by ourselves?
