Complementarity

One of the most important theories which concerns attraction between people considers the opposition as the reason for attraction.

People in long-term relationships are found that in many instances a complementary set of characteristics was evident.

Perceived Competence

Competence is assumed to be one of three fundamental psychology needs.

People are tend to be attracted to those who appear: capable, knowledgeable and intelligent, as opposed to those who are not.

A competent person may become more

endearing in our eyes if he or she

occasionally shows signs of imperfection. Aronson, willerman

and Floyed experiment.
