• Under Stanton's direction, UW also saw the first use of a computer in 1960.

• On July 1, 1960, the IBM 610 was installed, and J.D. Lawson a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics was appointed Supervisor of the Computing Centre.

• Computers of 1960 don’t look much different than they were one year later in 1961

Air planes have computers

• In 1960 and 1961 air planes had computers.

• Ever since computers were invented almost ever air plane had a computer in it,

Input/ output

• Input- input is when you type or click the mouse

• The keyboard and mouse is the input

• Output- in when stuff show on the screen and is a printer

Fetch/decode/execute

• Fetch- fetch obtains information

• Decode- figures out what action to do

• Execute- does the math

Memory

• Memory is the hard drive

• Memory is also the hardware
