Overview of healthcare information technology and computer science systems to prepare students to effectively and efficiently use technology for the identification, collection, processing, and management of data and information.

Exploration of legal, ethical, cultural, economic, and social factors that affect healthcare information technology.

Having a library expert available for teaching/help was a valuable resource.

Guest speakers who came to talk on issues. They were helpful and provided relevant information that was useful for all courses. Example, Ms. Wu.

ConclusionsConclusions

The health sciences librarian can play an important role in helping students to learn to use library resources and locate quality information for class assignments and projects.

Students’ assignments were tied with library resources to answer clinical questions.

Provided students opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.

Pre- and post- class survey provided important feedback on students’ progression and their increased comprehension.
