Project Activities
Identify how an institution's construction project performance compares to others
Inform process improvement initiatives
Project Background
Benchmarking helps identify successful design and construction management practices. Through evaluation of performance, it reveals and underlying reasons of success, and informs improvement initiatives. This project will establish a benchmarking system with other universities, comparing project information such as schedule, cost, customer satisfaction, and other items.
Assumptions / Constraints
Start with a small group
Measure what the group values
Data collection frequency (3 times per year); Online system
Establish criterion for sharing and disseminating data
Construction Project Design and Management Performance Benchmarking System at Institutions of Higher Education
Measures of Success
Performance metrics identified by Nov 2009
Data collected /available by March 2010
