• Provide a perspective for evaluating significance. What else was going on? What role did the group play? Were many groups in the area important parts of the community fabric?

• Determine the property types that reflect the theme. Vernacular frame lodges? Grand architect-designed statements?

• Determine what physical features were important, and establish standards of integrity. Interior, as well as exterior?
