The Government of India and the state governments have planned and implemented continuous process improvements in technician education subsystem. They borrowed funds from the World Bank. Also, the governments utilized the cooperation of various countries through bilateral agreements. This paper synthesizes the developments made so far. Further developments are required to meet the fast changing needs of globalized Indian economy.
