Cats and dogs, kittens and puppies come to the Genesee County Animal Shelter (GCAS) through no fault of their own. And unfortunately, their time there is often heartbreakingly short. In 2009, 64% of all Shelter canines and 94% of felines did not find permanent homes and had to be euthanized. That equals more than 8,000 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
