Dsclosre laws n NSW. For the frst
tme, donatons and expendtrewll be capped. Donatons are also

companes and proft-drven lqor

Premer Krstna Keneall and
the NSW Government shold be
congratlated on these hstorcchanges to the electoral sstem.
The reorms also have important
implications or our country
campaigns.
These reorms ensure that our
candidates in country electorates
receive direct fnancial support to
run their campaign. Candidates who
gain over 4% o the primary vote will
be entitled to be reimbursed 100%
or the frst $10,000 they spend, and
then 50% or the next $40,000 they
spend. Total expenditure is capped
at $100,000 per electorate.
This means that our country
candidates will be entitled to a
minimum o $10,000 in public
unding. This unding will be returned
directly to our local campaigns
Party Ofce will not retain this
money.
These reorms are an important step
in increasing the transparency o
political donations. I am proud that
it is a Labor Government who has
continued the process o reorm in
this important area.

$155 mllon SothCoast Correctonal
Centre opened
The NSW Governments
decision to locate thecorrectional centre at Nowra
has delivered a massive jobs
boost to the South Coast.
Through the lie o the project,
the centre supported 2,200
jobs, with about hal o the
construction workorce coming
rom the local region.
The correctional centre will create
at least 200 permanent jobs
once the acility becomes ully
operational by early next year.
It is estimated these new jobs
will inject around $10 milliona year into the south coast
economy.
This centre was completed
ater just two and a hal years
and I thank all o the people
who have helped deliver this
project on time and on budget,
Premier Keneally said.
Recruitment is already underway
or correctional ofcers, industries
ofcers, education ofcers,
administrative and health sta.

Contr Msc Awards o Astralaat the lanch o the 2011 Jaco
Tamworth Contr Msc Festval.
The estival is one o the largest
events o its kind in the world, and has
cemented the Tamworths reputation
as Australias country music capital.
The Tamworth Country Music Festival
and Country Music Awards, ondly
known as the Golden Guitar Awards,
capture the heart and soul o ournation, Premier Keneally said.
Tamworth is synonymous with country
music and every January the city is
transormed into our capital o country
music.
The NSW Government, through
Events NSW, has partnered with
Tourism Tamworth, the Country Music
Association o Australia and the
Tamworth Regional Council in planningthe Tamworth Country Music Festival
and Country Music Awards o Australia
or the past three years.

$500,000 boost or new Tamworth Helcopter Base
Premer Krstna Keneall joned the local commnt to celebrate the ofcal namng
ceremon o the new brdge at Matland. Ths s part o the $65 mllon Thrd Hnter
Rver Crossng project, an mportant pece o nrastrctre or the regon.
Premer Krstna Keneall opened the new $2.3 mllon resce helcopter base at
Tamworth Arport and annonced a rther $500,000 to assst wth addtonal pgrades.

Ms Keneally said the third crossing
o the Hunter River will reduce
congestion on Belmore Bridge
in Maitland and provide an
alternative route to the heritage-
listed Morpeth Bridge.
This will save drivers 10,500
kilometres travel every day by 2016
and cut greenhouse gasses by
about 2.5 tonnes a day.
The bridge will be named ater well-
known local identity and long-time
resident o Maitland, Harry Boyle,
ondly known as Mr History due
to his passion or studying andremembering the past.
Local MP Frank Terenzini said the
Harry Boyle Bridge is expected to
be open to trafc beore Christmas
this year once fnal road works are
complete, several months aheado schedule.
The Tamworth resce helcopter
perorms search and resceoperatons, attends car accdents
and transports crtcal patents to
hosptals n Tamworth, Newcastle
and Sdne.
Since the Tamworth helicopter
service started in 2000, it has
fown more than 1,600 missions.
It attends more than 100 motor
vehicle accidents each year.
The Westpac Rescue Service
raised the money or the dedicated
base at Tamworth Airport.
This will provide better emergency
responses in the New Englandand North West regions.
The new Tamworth acility includes
a brand new hanger or the
helicopter, sta training rooms,
oces, kitchen and crew quarters.
This year alone, the NSW
Government will provide
$4 million to the Hunter New
England Westpac RescueHelicopter service, so they can
deliver their vital services.
The additional $500,000 grant rom
the State Government will ensure
urther upgrades to the acility at
Tamworth Airport, including a fight
planning centre, new engineering
acility and the tting out o the new
building.

The Keneally Government has
begun meeting with armers and
stakeholders to gather eedback to
inorm our response to the Authoritys
Guide, Minister Costa said.
The NSW Government supports
ensuring the sustainability o
the Murray Darling Basin and
the economic prosperity o the
communities it supports, and it
is vital that we understand and
address the needs o those
communities.
The Murray Darling Basin
Authoritys Guide is the frst step in
a long process o developing a fnal
plan or the basin that strikes the
right balance between the needs o
regional communities and the needs
o the environment.
The Keneally Government has
always stood up or the best
interests o this state, and will
be putting a case orward on
behal o the people o NSW. We
will not desert regional and rural
communities, Minister Costa said.

creating 55 much-needed new jobs

The companys investment in
establishing the new acility was
supported through the NSW
Governments Regional Business
Development Scheme.
The acility will be able to process
8,500 batteries a day, turning waste
products into new resources.
