WORKSHOP CASECitizens House

@designcentret #designcities #citylabmia

1. The city council has asked for a framework to nurture an iconic public building centrally placed in a medium sized city in Denmark.

2. It is to become a shared space between the local library, citizens service centre, local businesses, NGOs and a volunteer centre.

3. The location has long suffered from being a transit point which you pass through quickly.

4.Both citizens and visitors tend to either avoid the building or make sure to go in and out as fast as possible on their way from one type of public transportation to another.

5. The city council has asked for assistance on discovering how the building can once again become an attractive gateway to the city and play a role as a lively, well-visited and frequently used urban space.

EXERCISE #1NEW IDEAS

@designcentret #designcities #citylabmia

Exercise #11) Select which user group you want to approach - one user group at each table 2) Brainstorm new ideas on idea posters 3) Cluster your ideas: Which ideas belong together? Write headlines on the stickers.

EXERCISE #2PROTOTYPING

@designcentret #designcities #citylabmia

1) Pick the best ideas from exercise 1 (use the headlines) 2) Where in the building does your solution take place? 3) How is the area furnished? 4) Which offers or services are included in the building? 5) Which persons will be a part of the solution? 6) What do they say to each other? 7) What else is happening?

Reflections1) Feedback: How was it to work with the tools?

2) What does it require from your organization to work design-driven?

3) What are the main challenges for you to adopt the methods in your daily work?
