8:45 Shuttle leaves promptly at 8:45 a.m.
On this tour, you will visit the nationally recognized facilities of The Center for Health Care Services’ Restoration Center and Haven for Hope of Bexar County.
The Restoration Center has been serv-ing the San Antonio community since 2008 with a wide range of substance abuse and acute care services. Working in close partnership with community law partners across Bexar County and City of San Antonio, The Restoration Center has developed a wide range of Jail Diversion programs co-located at 601 North Frio:
Crisis Care Center, Public Sobering, Residential & Ambulatory Detoxification, and Injured Detainee Medical Services.
Crisis Care Center provides 24-hour assessment and intervention services that address psychiatric crisis resulting in crisis resolution, extended observation and coordination into alternative care. It is the first choice for law enforcement to divert people with behavioral health needs from costly incarcerations and emergency room visits.
Public Sobering is designed to offer a treatment alternative in lieu of arrest to public in-toxicants by providing a medically safe environment utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to engage the patient and offer direct access to treatment. Multiple admis-sions to public sobering is not viewed as a failure.
Detox Unit offers individualized treatment and high quality medical care with experi-enced, compassionate medical staff who provide detox services in a supportive environ-ment. Individuals can detox from all substances.
In-House Recovery Program (IHRP) provides dormitories on the Haven for Hope cam-pus to provide sober, structured-living environments for campus residents to engage in treatment. Patients enrolled in IHRP attend outpatient substance abuse treatment pro-grams such as daily group counseling focused on relapse prevention, development of adaptive coping strategies, and other topics related to addiction.
Injured Detainee Medical Services provide minor medical clearance for crisis and de-toxification programs. There is immediate access to law enforcement to receive medical clearance and treatment for individuals that have been detained and injured during the apprehension process. This added service reduced ER wait line and get police back on the street. This service is blended and funded through City and County.

Noon Close of Conference
Haven for Hope of Bexar County serves approximately 1500 individu-
als each day, providing a residential and service space for those faced
with homelessness. Haven has over 90 organizational partners, provid-
ing more than 150 social services. There are 31 partners on campus, 47
off-campus/community referrals, and 13 community support partners.
The campus has two major programs: the Courtyard and the Transfor-
mational Campus. The Courtyard is a low-barrier safe sleeping program
that offers shelter and basic needs. Individuals are welcome to stay at
the Courtyard as long as they are experiencing homelessness and need
assistance. The Transformational Campus is a center that offers ser-
vices and shelter with an emphasis towards addressing the root cause
of homelessness. At the Transformational Campus, an individual has
access to resources and support needed to gain permanent housing.
An individual’s stay is determined on their engagement toward their
goals.
IBHI is a not for profit charity (501c 3) dedicated to helping organizations
which serve people with a behavioral health problem to achieve better results.
