CROSSBITE CORRECTION WITH
SLOW MAXILLARY EXPANSION SCREW
• Regd.no.- 38577•Name of patient: Arunava Dutta• Age:12 years • Sex: Male• Place: Department of Pedodontics,GNIDSR.
The patient came to the out patient
department of pedodontics, with a chief complaint of
irregular arrangement
of front teeth.
• The patient was physically healthy and had no history of relevant medical
complications and dental trauma.
• Patient gives history of tongue thrusting habit, with duration,
intensity and frequency nonspecified by him and his parents.
Intra-oral examination• Intraoral examination revealed patient in mixed dentition stage with an Angle's class I molar relationship bilaterally present.•Clinical examination showed : anterior single tooth crossbite narrow upper arch high arched palate deep bite

TREATMENT PLANNING
•OPG and lateral cephalometric were advised.•Upper and lower impression were recorded.•Oral prophylaxis was done with ultrasonic method.•A removable orthodontic appliance with slow maxillary expansion screw along with a posterior bite plate was planned for the correction of crossbite.

• Patient was advised to maintain proper oral hygiene habits, and was recalled after three months for follow up.
• At the completion of treatment , gingival recession present i.r.t lower right central incisor(41); which was observed at the pre-treatment phase can be recontoured in future with the help of periodontal therapy.
