D1: installing windows xp

WINDOWS 7 USB compatibility

• Windows 7 is the first microsoft operating system that allows installation from the USB

• The bios will allow a boot from USB which when loaded with the windows 7 operating system software will start a installation

• USB 3.0 is preferred version to use when installing with USB because of the superspeed transfer mode

Step 1:

• Insert the USB drive into the computer when it is off and then turn it on

• It will boot from the USB and it will run the operating system files

Step 2: set up

• It will come up with this text

• Press enter to install and then press f8 to agree with the licensing agreement

Step 3: partitions

• Click Enter to install the xp on a partition of the hard drive

Step 4: formatting

• I recommend using the NTFS file system because it is up to date it is quick

Step 5: personalisation

• First enter your name and operation

Enter your product key

Computer name and password

Date and time settings

Professional step up

• Choose typical settings because it does everything for you

workgroup

• Assign a name for the workgroup

finish

• Now you have complete the set up and now windows xp is fully installed
