FIN-D2D Programme, AIMS
1.To reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes and to reduce risk factors and care requirements for the complications of type 2 diabetes
2.To identify among the population those who are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes
3.To provide earlier diagnosis when people are unaware of their type 2 diabetes
4.To bring people with type 2 diabetes quickly into the sphere of appropriate treatment
5.To generate regional and local models and programmes for the prevention of type 2 diabetes
6.To demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of prevention

Evaluation of the FIN-D2D
• The feasibility, effectiveness and costs of the FIN-D2D will be evaluated according to a spesific evaluation plan
• Evaluation includes comparison of five geographical areas of FIN-D2D to the rest of Finland regarding for example incidence of T2D and prevalence of undiagnosed T2D
