Abstract: This report is on the 23 countries which are member states of Council of Europe, but at present, only eight of them (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal) still keep wolves in their territories. The decline of wolves in Europe, as well as their historical distribution in different countries is briefly commented. The problems in man-wolf relationships are more extensively described. The most important part of this report focuses on proposals for wolf conservation.
